Interview

What is the significance of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy to the hairdressing industry?
It is an indicator for future trends and the number one team competition in the industry. The production at the heats and Grand Final is second to none. Every event has a fantastic buzz.

What are your favourite L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy competition memories?
The spectacular Grand Final at Earls Court and winning this year!

What is your criterion for a L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy winner?
To follow the brief from the website, show innovation and creativity on a great, photogenic model and put together the total look.

What does it mean to win the competition?
Great PR opportunities as well as motivation and direction for the salon team.

If you were entering in this year's competition, what advice would you like to be given?
Clear direction on the looks of the season and my comments from criteria required above.

What personal / character traits do you think make a L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy winner?
You need to be a talented hairdresser with good communication skills and an ability to translate catwalk onto a model.

How do you think the standards of the competition have changed in recent years?
I think they have improved with the website information given to contestants and there are less 'competition' heads in the heats now.

What are the benefits of competing and being a part of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy competition?
It is a fantastic all round experience that should motivate individuals who don't win to come back and do it again!
