Haringtons

Helen Malloy and James Beech are the masterminds behind a stunning L'Oréal Colour Trophy entry from Haringtons, Reading, that has pushed the salon into the final stage of the competition. The team created a razor-sharp cut, fashion-savvy styling and truly original colour work that ensured them a place in the Southern top three.

"We wanted to present a strong look that didn't compromise our personal style of hairdressing,” explained Helen and James. "Our model was great to work with as she gave us the freedom to go for a really bold haircut which was inspired by the gothic punk trend that is evident in youth culture.”

For Helen in particular, a stab at the 2007 title is momentous. She has entered the L'Oréal Colour Trophy twice in the past, reaching the Grand Final on one of these occasions, but not yet come away with the title. However, 2007 is a new competition and the judges are all in agreement that Haringtons, Reading have the stuff that finalists are made of.

"James and I were in shock when we heard our name read out,” said Helen on her winning moment. "It was a bit overwhelming at first but felt amazing to go on stage and pick up our award.”
