L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy - Young Colourist Award in association with HJ
1. Download and print the entry form for the category you're entering
2. Create your 10x8 colour photo
3. Send two identical copies of your 10x8 colour photo attached to the entry form provided, together with proof of age, such as a copy of your passport or driving licence.
4. All entries to reach L'Oréal Professionnel by Monday 3rd March 2008.
- This is a competition for individuals, not teams, and the COLOURIST only will be the named winner
- Only one entry per salon in this category.
- Two identical colour 10x8 photos must be sent with the correct entry form to reach L'Oréal Professionnel by the closing date of entry. Late entries will not be permitted
- You may not enter the same picture for more than one award category
- The photo should be no more than one year old and can be either a head shot or full length
- Photos cannot be returned
- Models must have skin allergy tested prior to colour application. Should you go through to the LIVE Final you will need to bring a client record card signed for this for your model as you will be applying colour on L'Oréal Professionnel premises.
- Competitors must be under 25 on the closing date of entry; photographic proof of age is required with entry
- 4 people will be selected to go through to the Regional Final stage at each region, the overall winner of each region will be announced at these. Should you qualify for the Regional Final you must attend this in order to qualify for the LIVE Final.
- Should you reach the LIVE Final stage the competitor and model will need to be available to come to the L'Oréal International Academy in London on 16th May 2008.
- Only L'Oréal Professionnel products are to be used on the model in both photographic entry stage and LIVE Final stage
- At the LIVE Final competitors are required to bring a female model of their choice that will best demonstrate their colour and finished look. This need not be the same model as the photographic entry
- The model is NOT expected to be professional, but competitors are advised that they should photogenic as they will be photographed and filmed
- The Finalists are required to colour and blow dry their model's hair only: they will have 3½ hours to complete this. They can bring someone with them to blow dry their model's hair if they are not confident enough to do this themselves
- Competitors have been asked NOT to pre-colour their model's hair as the judges will need to see it before, during and after colouring.
- The model's hair needs to be pre-cut into the desired shape before the final
- The entry picture will not form part of the decision making at the Grand Final
- Models have been asked to wear a black top and a black skirt/trousers and a pair of black heels.
- L'Oréal Professionnel will provide a make-up artist for all competitors and they will be made-up in a similar way
- Competitors are to come prepared to answer any questions from the judges that they may have about the inspiration behind the look
- The COLOURIST has to undertake all of the colour work, and cannot have pre-coloured the hair. Any previous prep colour work will result in points being taken off.
- Please bring with you a card of the colours and names of the products you are planning to use to put on your work station for reference for the judges.
- Competitors may be accompanied by a person who is supporting them during the competition but they are not allowed to contribute to the colour work in any way (as in giving direction of colour placement).
- L'Oréal Professionnel Technical Management Team will monitor the floor whilst the colour application is being carried out; they will feedback any examples of assistance to the judges which could result in a deduction of points from the overall marks.
- Judges will award points as follows: 80% on colour, 20% on how you present yourself and your inspiration behind your look
- The winner will be announced at the L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy Grand Final on Monday 2nd June 2008. The models will not be required to be there
- The judges' decision is final. Neither L'Oréal Professionnel or the judges will discuss results
