L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award

2. Download and print the entry form for the category you're entering

3. Create your 10x8” colour photo

4. Send to L'Oréal Professionnel by Monday 3rd March 2008

Rules and Regulations

  • To enter the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy or L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award you must be a trading salon at time of entry.
  • Only one entry per salon per category.
  • The prize is awarded to the salons not the team members.
  • If your salon won an award category last year, your salon is not allowed to compete in the same award in 2008, but can compete in the other categories.
  • Should you be chosen to represent your region at the Grand Final - hair, make-up clothes and model must be identical to the look presented at the Regional Final. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. L'Oréal Professionnel will police this as follows: Models will be photographed both close up and at full length at the Regional Finals. Your model will be scrutinized at the Grand Final if they are not wearing exactly the same as at the Regional Final you will be give the opportunity to correct your outfit on the spot, if you are unable to do this your team will be instantly disqualified.
  • Entrants must have provisionally booked their model and clothes for the Regional Final, Grand Final (2nd June 2008) and winners shoot (9th June 2008).
  • Two identical colour 10”x8” photos must be sent with the correct entry form to reach L'Oréal Professionnel by the closing date of entry. Late entries will not be permitted
  • You may not enter the same picture for more than one award category
  • The photo can be either a head shot or full length
  • Photos cannot be returned
  • L'Oréal Professionnel Products only may be used on models. This will be checked by L'Oréal Professionnel Technical Managers.
  • Models must have skin allergy tested prior to colour application
  • The judges' decision is final. Neither L'Oréal Professionnel or the judges will discuss results

Regional Finals

  • The L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Team needs to consist of no more than four people including model
  • 25 teams will be selected to attend each region in the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Category
  • 3 teams from the 25 selected will qualify for the Grand Final.
  • At the Regional Final the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy teams will have 30 minutes to complete the winning look.
  • The L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award Team needs to consist of no more than 3 people including the model
  • 10 teams will be selected to attend each region in the L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award category
  • At the regional Final the L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award teams will have 20 minutes to complete their winning look.
  • 1 team in each region will qualify for the Grand Final in the L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award
  • Prior to the live competition starting hair should be damp and prepared for blow-drying.
  • If hair is set, rollers/bendies etc must not be removed prior to competition starting.
  • No wigs, full head of extensions or ornaments will be allowed.
  • Monofibre and extensions will be disqualified
  • Small, individual hair wefts can be used
  • Cutting will be allowed on the competition floor.
  • By 6.15pm Competitors and models must be at their tables on the competition floor, not being at your table at this time could result in disqualification.
  • Your Hair Stylist only is allowed on the floor until the last 10 minutes when your make-up artist is allowed to come on and touch up the make-up.
  • Neither your Stylist nor Model may leave the floor during the competition.
  • No smoking or drinking is allowed on the competition floor.
  • Should you be chosen to represent your region at the Grand Final - hair, make-up clothes and model must be identical to the look presented at the Regional Final. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE
  • Your model may sit or stand during the judging. The judges are allowed to move your model in order to judge different angles and the models are catwalked on stage to assess their animation. The judging will take 50 minutes so please do not present your model in an un-natural pose.
  • Your model will be photographed and videoed during the judging, you will need to sign a release form at check in to allow us to do this.
  • Should you be one of the team's who will go forward to the Grand Final - Team members ONLY will invited on the stage for the presentation and photographs.
  • The results from the evening are published in rank order after the results have been announced.

Grand Final

  • At the Grand Final Hair, make-up clothes and model must be identical to the look presented at the Regional Final. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. L'Oréal Professionnel will police this as follows: Models will be photographed both close up and at full length at the Regional Finals. Your model will be scrutinized at the Grand Final if they are not wearing exactly the same as at the Regional Final you will be give the opportunity to correct your outfit on the spot, if you are unable to do this your team will be instantly disqualified.
  • L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy competitors will have 2 ½ hours to complete their winning look
  • L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award competitors will have 2 hours to complete their winning look
  • You will be asked to present your inspiration for your look and will be questioned by the Grand Final judges about this.
  • L'Oréal Professionnel Technical Managers will also question you specifically about the colour used and your technique.
  • L'Oréal Professionnel Product only to be used on models.
  • The L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy one regional winner will be picked from the 3 representatives from each region.
  • A winner, 2nd place and 3rd place will be selected by the judges of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy
  • A winner and runner up will be selected in the L'Oréal Professionnel Men's Image Award category.
