Interview

What is the significance of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy to the hairdressing industry?
To bring out the best in commercial artistic hair colouring - a platform for new rising talent.

What are your favourite L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy competition memories?
Participating in some of the shows in the UK and abroad. It's a hot pot of new ideas and creativity.

What is your criterion for a L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy winner?
An all round fashionable look that the consumer can connect with but it must have the X factor. It has to have out of the box thinking.

What does it mean to win the competition?
Recognition amongst the best hairdressing in the world. A spring board opportunity from which to grow and develop.

If you were entering in this year's competition, what advice would you like to be given?
Keep it beautiful, think fashion but think out of the box and get the very best face you can afford.

What personal / character traits do you think make a L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy winner?
You need to be in touch with what's going on in fashion and our industry as well as be aware of who and what others may be doing to win - and then be even better than that!

How do you think the standards of the competition have changed in recent years?
People are getting more sussed about the whole package; it's more consumer conscious, which makes it harder to stand out from the crowd.

What are the benefits of competing and being a part of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy competition?
You are opening your mind to many levels from new skills / new people / new PR. It's a learning opportunity, even if you don't win. Good Luck!
