Reds Hair & Beauty

At the age of only 20 Nicola Bone's talent in the field of colour has won her the approval of an exceptional panel of industry-leading judges and a shot at the 2007 L'Oréal Young Colourist Award. Representing Reds Hair & Beauty in Sunderland, Nicola's technical excellence and eye for high-street trends gave her the edge over her competitors and a place at the Live Final in May.

"I wanted an original look that salon customers would wear everyday and enjoy," said Nicola of her winning entry "The focus was on natural, appealing hair with a glamorous edge. I chose clothes to reflect my choices with the hair - casual yet sexy pyjamas dressed up with fabulous accessories to create a sense of everyday glamour."

2007 marks the debut of Nicola's competition career, and she is delighted to have reached the L'Oréal Young Colourist Live Final in her first year of entry. The final round will see Nicola compete against eight other finalists from across the UK at the L'Oréal International Academy in London - a challenge she is already looking forward to.

"I was absolutely shell-shocked when my name was called out" said Nicola of her winning moment, "I was there with sixteen other members of the salon, so we were in full voice when the announcement was made! I am just so excited to have reached the last stage of the competition - the Live Final will be an experience like no other!"
