Toni&Guy, Guildford is the fourth salon to join the mighty ranks of Men's Image Finalist 2007, as their effortlessly chic entry was voted number one at the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Southern Regional Final. With a masculine quiff that is the height of glam, a grey suit that could have walked straight off Dior Homme's Parisian catwalk and technically excellent hair colour, the salon sailed through to the L'Oréal Grand Final, where they will compete against nine other Finalists for the illustrious Men's Image Award 2007.
Stylist Sara Elhaj and Colourist Abby Cooper described the inspiration behind their winning image: "We watched a colleague compete in the Men's Image Award last year and found the potential for creativity really inspiring. Smart trends are huge at the moment, so we decided to use long hair but keep the styling clean-cut, neat and fashion-forward.
As this is the first year they have entered the competition, the team from Toni&Guy are delighted at their success so far and hugely excited at the prospect of representing their salon and Region at the Grand Final in May.
"I think our initial reaction was shock! says Sara of the salon's winning moment, "but once it had sunk in we were over the moon. Having only ever watched before, the feeling of competing and being selected for the final stage is absolutely unbelievable. We are thrilled.
