Men's Image Award Winner 2011

L’Oréal Professionnel Men’s Image Award Winners Petros Mairoudhiou and Sharon Wicksted from Trevor Sorbie, Covent Garden made the team that won the L'Oréal Professionnel Men’s Image Awards, they have had an incredible year partaking in a range of amazing activities such as, working backstage at London Fashion Week, completing a fashion-led editorial look for the UK style-bible Vogue and jet-setting off to Madrid on the Exposure tour to network with some of the UK hairdressing industries most exciting fresh talent.

The judges are industry icons so their acknowledgment means a huge amount. We are so proud and the opportunities we have been involved in are amazing. We are using this as a massive launch pad and since winning we have really been put in the spot light and it is such a great feeling to get out there and push our own creativity.”

The team combined both their technical expertise with their knowledge of catwalk trends to produce their award winning model look. Each team comments on the key elements incorporated into their winning formula;

“A key skill to have is an eye for knowing what works in terms of clothes styling, haircut, hair colour and of course suitability to the model. For your L’Oréal Professionnel Men’s Image everything in your look has to work from head to toe, it's about visualizing that final look. The hardest part is bringing it all together on that one man. We had to be adaptive to personalise our idea so it suited him perfectly. We both also practiced a lot from our placement colour to hours of scissor over combing.”
