The energetic and enthused team have been assigned acclaimed award winning hairdresser Chris Williams as their mentor for the year.

The team started an amazing expedition that was filled with a mix of inspiration and empowering education as well as high energy artistic and fashion led hair shows, all the while developing and demonstrating their creative skills and perfecting their technical precision. Each of the members agrees that they are part of a thrilling ride that will leave them inspired and ready to take on their next steps in creative hairdressing.

“I entered the Young Colourist category because I wanted a chance to show my creativity and I thought it would be a good experience. It’s been amazing working alongside some other creative people and learning from their experience.”
James Wraight, Colourist at Hooka in Liverpool

“Becoming London’s Young Colourist is the biggest thing I have done to date. This is one step closer to where I want to be and that’s being the very best that I can possibly be.”
Chloe Ascott, Charles Worthington, London

“To be one of the few people that get the chance to be mentored by the people that you aspire to be is amazing. I am hoping to take away a lot of new things from the program to boost my career in the right direction.”
Trudy Marmion, Faith Hair, Lisburn

“Winning for the North East Region was amazing. What I love most about this industry is there are so many roads u can take with something new around every corner. I love the constant challenges of dipping into the different sections. I’m very lucky to have the chance to be part of fashion shows, shoots, teaching and the great buzz of working full time in the salon.”
Adele Handsley, Bang Hair, York

“The prize of being on the first ever L’Oreal Colour Academy has meant so much to me. To be given the chance to work alongside such well known hairdressers, learning from them, creating looks and being part of a team is something I am really looking forward to. I feel that this will really help to take my career to another level. “
