With five categories to choose from, and exceptional opportunities for our overall winners, this could be your year.

Awarding Future Talent

Following its success in 2020, we are proud to continue to support grass roots education. In 2022, we introduce the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Future Talent Award, specifically aimed at full-time or part-time college students on eligible courses. For more information about this exciting category and the rules for entering, please read the brief below and refer to the terms and conditions.

L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award

Entrants must create a well-executed, inspirational and modern colour look on any model, of any gender or any gender identity of any hair type. This must be complemented by a beautiful style, finish and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends.

Entrants can interpret this as they see fit, but the final look must share the same values as L’Oréal Professionnel Paris. These are:

  • Fashion: Taking inspiration from trends
  • Innovation: Classic elements, with a brand-new twist
  • Pioneering: A colour that could be a future trend

The work presented must always be exceptionally executed and technically correct.

Wefts, weaves and extensions covering a maximum 25% of the head using L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour can be used.

No full wigs are allowed.

Models do not have to be professional, but they have to be confident, self-assured, ‘own’ their look.

The clothes, makeup and accessories should enhance and complement the overall look that the colourist and stylist have created.

The hair colour will be the overriding factor in any decision-making process.

*Open to UK residents aged 16+ (and up to aged 25 for the STAR award category) as of closing date 18/02/22 entering as part of a salon team (except for the Future Talent category where entrants can be ROI residents). To enter Colour Specialist category, entrants must be a Colour Specialist (completion of 15-day Diploma course and final exam required). One entry per individual across all categories. The colourist and stylist (as applicable) must be confirmed in the entry form and must remain the same throughout the competition. Entries must be uploaded onto www.lorealcolourtrophy.com and received by 22:00 18/02/22. Entrants must use only L’Oréal Professionnel Paris products. Entry photos must be in colour. The entrant salon must be trading at the time of entry and all stages of the competition. Winning team (or individual in the case of the Future Talent category) receives the 2022/23 Award for the relevant category and the chance to attend prize experiences including hairdressing event(s)/a trip dependent on category. The competition is only open to L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour Specialist graduates who have completed the 15-day Diploma course and passed the official L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour Specialist final exam. Proof of this must be supplied upon entry. For the avoidance of doubt, no other iterations of the L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour Specialist Degree will be accepted.
  2. The overarching decision on this exclusive category is that the colour presented must be exceptionally executed and technically correct.
